Our mission here at Access Debate is to bring national circuit Lincoln Douglas debate to low income students from around the country. There are several obstacles that prevent many students from competing in the national circuit, and the two main obstacles are lack of resources and funding. As a result there is a very apparent low number of low income students, and our goal is to mitigate or ultimately eliminate that obstacle.
Our vision is to see the debate community with little to no socioeconomic disparities. We have been very successful in allowing students to compete at the national level, however we want to continually improve on that success. We would love to be able to provide more funds to each students, have more students, and overall increase students’ chances of competing at these prestigious tournaments.
